Sara's Philosophy on Teaching Voice

  • WhatPersonalized vocal training online & in-person focused on technical mastery and artistic expression.

  • How: A blend of mind-body coordination and artistry development tailored to each student.

  • Who: Aspiring singers (ages 12+), professional performers, and anyone wanting to be a better singer.

  • Goals: Students gain confidence, healthy vocal technique, and the skills to sing across diverse genres.

Hello, singers! My name is Sara, and I hope you will let me be your outside ear. I am a life-long musician. I found my niche with singing at age 13 after toying with piano, guitar, and trumpet. I loved that I always had my instrument, and that singing paired perfectly with my other love of theatrical storytelling. The first musical I performed in was The Music Man. I was a Wa-Ta-Nee girl, and I can safely say that storyline didn't age well. What followed between then and now was dual undergrad degrees in Theatre Arts and Vocal Performance from Chapman University, a long career as an improvisational storyteller at Disneyland, and performances in venues including Carnegie Hall, Notre Dame Cathedral, Disney’s Hyperion Theater, and many local stages across the Greater Bay Area and Sacramento. I'm also a strong advocate for disability access and representation onstage, a citizen scientist birder, and I volunteer with Napa Bunnies Rabbit Rescue.

Testimonials

"As a teacher, Sara is knowledgeable about technique, harmonies, and vocal health. More importantly, though, she harbors a safe, comfortable environment.”
